While we have been focused on our 30th firm anniversary, there is another important celebration that I would be remiss to not mention: the wedding of our son Jonathan, who just married the love of his life, Renée, in Washington, D.C.—a milestone that fills Shari and me with tremendous pride and gratitude.
When I look at Jonathan, I still see the little boy who couldn’t wait to get out on the little league field. From his earliest days playing the game, baseball became a source of lifelong lessons, friendships, and cherished family memories. I think back to the years I spent rushing from the office to coach his teams, the excitement of watching him grow as both a player and a young man, and the countless afternoons we shared on the diamond. It’s these experiences—not the wins and losses—that stand out the most.
Life is built on planning for the future while embracing the unexpected that comes along the way. As a firm, we have witnessed this principle play out through three decades of change—the Great Recession of 2008, the COVID-19 pandemic, LA fires, surging inflation, rising interest rates, and today’s evolving geopolitical landscape. In every inning of life, the markets have reminded us that uncertainty is inevitable, but preparation makes all the difference. Watching Jonathan begin this new chapter of marriage reinforces that same lesson.
Whether we’ve had the privilege of serving you for one year or for nearly 30, you’ve allowed us to be part of your financial journey through life’s milestones, challenges, successes, and everything in between. Your confidence and support have allowed us to grow alongside our respective families, and for that, I am deeply grateful.
